I bought the insurance of choice home warranty. I have a problem with the air conditioner not cooling. And I contacted choice home warranty to fix it. And they contacted SA Heating and air conditioning to make an appointment. But CHW technican arrived late. And they looked for less than 5 minutes and said that the refrigerant coil was broken and couldn't be fixed and had to be replaced systems new . And take me $75 deductible. Then they reported it choice home warranty. In the end they didn't want to fix it

I'm glad you guys did this, you guys seem like awesome. Guys have been the trade for a long time as myself. I've been in Las Vegas, Nevada and business for myself for the last 27 years. And I'll be turning big 60 next month. And it just makes me shake my head every time. I see something new from these warranty companies

Choice Home Warranty is a SCAM - they tell you "we either fix it or replace it". Good luck with that! There is so much fine print, EVERYTHING is an exception and exception - they will NEVER buy you a new appliance or replace a system - NEVER! They lie, cheat, steal and tell their technicians to do the same. They have a D rating with BBB, 1 out of 5 stars ... 11,000 complaints! It doesn't get much worse.

I have been with Choice Warranty since 2013. They denied my claim because my hot water heater is leaking from the tank. You are so correct, we all need to let others know. They are liars, and take all your money. Is there anything I can do. I turned them into NV ins. They are doing a investigation. They stated they have had numerous complaints!!! The company that came out said your denied, but I can do the labor for $250.00 very crooked.

Thanks for the video. I live in Northern Maryland. We have a sump pump outside the basement to drain water from areaway. Last week, the sump pump stopped working since the water in the horizontal segment of 2” discharge pipe had frozen. It was raining hard. Will it help to cover the PVC discharge pipe with insulation or should we have heating coils. Or is there any other solution, which you can suggest. Your advice/ recommendation will be highly appreciated. Thank you.

I work for one of these companies and yes they are a complete rip off and u really have to be a jacksss to get something and it could take mths to do that they seek the cheapest labour most of us work in 3 world countries and is only paid 2.60 US cents an hr for 40 hrs that doesn't even buy a meal In My country.... Doesn't .atter what u say they don't care they either tell you to leave or if u make it an issue they find some egregious behaviour and fire u on the spot I have seen this happen to many of my colleagues that mostly single noms 2ish i could expose them internationally and stay anonymous

Don't use CINCH! These guys are robbers and will find a reason to refuse your repair. Our ice maker stopped working and they said we overextended the door. We did not. They didn't even have a tech come out, it was all done over the phone. On top of that, they kept my $125.00 "co-pay".

As a newv plumbing contractor I tried home warranty for a week not woth it unless your plumbing company is a non profit ,they want you to be negative on jobs that's right you can spend $150 on parts and get approval for $135 for the call that's included labor no lie they say you'll make it up in volume that's why you get plumbing companies that hire anyone even if they have little to no experience.

It is a brutal way to try and make money. I tried one of these "fantastic" companies for a short period in an attempt to build client base..... I was approved for the work at the beginning only for them not to pay me at the end. Used them for a short time and lost over $500. Cut them off like a diseased limb. These companies can care less about their client base, can you see how much they would and do care about the contractor. If a home buyer purchases a home with a warranty plan, I would highly recommend dropping it when it times out.

The losers who buy home Warrantys are just as bad if not worse than the home Warranty companies. Tell the truth guys..

Yes, there's truth to everything you said, what i don't understand is why don't you guys do a better job setting up a program for homeowners so that they don't have to rely on evil companies like AHS and the others?

This whole thing can be solved with a T... right at the foundation exit. Just have the regular pipe go down and to the curb. Meanwhile have the t with just a short 6” run facing down outside the house. If the mainline gets backed up it will just pump right outside the house

Home warranty is a rip off, they promise alot but don't cover you when it comes to repairs. If they choose to cover you, they will partner up with an inexperienced hvac contractor who will cause more problems then he will fix but will stay within their budget

My sump pump manufacturer (Wayne) recommends installing a check valve after the pump so the pump does not have to prime every time it kicks on. Needless to say we have had a cold snap and the discharge line is now frozen. Is it a good idea to have the check valve or would it be beneficial to me to have it drain back into the sump pit to potentially prevent the outlet from freezing?

Choice home warranty does not only receive thousands of one star complaints from customers but also they are very difficult to work with. I cannot belive the unproffesionalism of every single person on the team. Just their voices from the very beginning of every conversation do not sound pleasant. Very disturbed, aggregated bunch whom are determined to make you as miserable as themselves. Avoid at all costs. Let your peace remain, you need it for your family, friends and customers. Don't lose it for a heartless choice home warranty representative. This is the only thing they specialize in, making both the customers and contractors miserable.

Look at only facts... You submit a claim they might make it out within a week I filed a claim on November 16th and today is the 4th of December. My hot water heater has been broken since the 14th of November, Its winter and no hot water. This is just the beginning. Customer service is non-existent. They have not contacted me once all communication has been initiated by me over 50 phone call with more than 80% being answered by a call center in the Philippines, and they have no authority to do anything, but they are very good at pissing you off. Here is where the scam comes into play. And this is not just being based on this repair, please read this brief history of their business practices; We had 3 ceiling fans nice and expensive and 64" blade span, all go out at the same time. after inspecting they agreed they need to be replaced however they said we only replace with 48" fans and if I wasn't happy with that, I could accept cash in lieu of repair based on the cheap 48-inch fans they install. I accepted the cash in lieu of repair because our fans each were over $550.00, they were only offering $490.00 total for all three. The real problem is that claim was done in 2012 and I have been trying to collect consistently yet they have failed to even pay their little portion. Again, similar type claim, our large home refrigerator went out and their replacement was not the large size fridge they said they would only replace it with a model similar to a tall apartment fridge because they had a cheap source for buying them. I took cash in lieu of and that was in 2017 and they have still failed to pay their small portion. As you can imagine I am not taking cash in lieu of anymore. Their word means nothing and even worse their contract that is on file at the Arizona Department of Insurance means absolutely nothing as well. Fast forward a side mount garage door opener with smartphone features was replaced with a cheap hang from the center of the garage ceiling mount garage door opener was the replacement I had and $800 opener the gave me an $89.00 opener... They replaced a $500 high neck flex hose laundry room faucet with a 1970's design $19.00 or less that you can find at Walmart faucet....... On the current day, the hot water heater that failed is one that the warranty company installed 6.5 years ago. The only thing they did right in 2013 was to replace our 80-gallon hot water heater with an 80-gallon water heater. It has already failed because they have a habit of installing replacement parts with substandard cheaply built parts. What has pushed my final button is that now they want to replace our 80 gallons with a fifty-gallon hot water heater. Let me ask you the same question I asked them. How is a fifty-gallon water heater going to service a 4 bedroom 4 bathrooms 4000 square foot home with 6 people showering? ANSWER, it won't. So they are pushing me to take cash in lieu of repair. That is not going to happen. Here is why... I have pulled the contract out and read it under coverage overview Item 4). starting with line 4 states that they have to replace our items with similar features, capacity, and efficiencies. The contract is very clear... black and white... Yet they are continuing to attempt to scam my wife and me... Looking back; the fridge, the ceiling fans, the garage door opener, and the faucet did not match features, capacities nor efficiencies. and yet they continue to breach their contracts over and over. I have had enough of their games. What am I going to do about it? I am getting three real repair quotes from real contractors. I am filing a complaint with both the Arizona Attorney General Office and the Arizona Department of Insurance. I am going to Arizona News 3 on your side to tell my story, if they will help I'll stay with them, if not I will go to every news source that will hear our story. As you can see, I am not holding back and have only shared true actual facts. Since we entered our contract in 2011, they have collected over $6500 in premiums and they have in return replace a few components with cheaply built trash garbage substandard replacements. Also, look online they own like 2-3 other warranty companies for home warranties and they are run the same way. What should you do? Start a home repair savings account and deposit 60-70 dollars every month into it and when things go out, shop for the best deal for like replacements and pull money from that account as things break. this sounds like a commercial for Rupcoe but you are right to some extent. And not all plumbers do a bad job when working with the home warranty companies and some do a very bad job.

Every time our warranty company sends someone to "fix" the furnace they never do. I finally had to open it up and fix it myself. They charged us $100 and said our filter was dirty that's why it wasn't working. Nonsense. It was changed a week before they came. It was the flame sensor. It wasn't even seated properly or near enough to the flame. I took it out and took some steel wool to it and put it back in. Works perfectly now. Don't trust these people.

Bought home and American Home Shield insurance for piece of mind. They use access as excuse not to do repairs. So broken wire in wall cannot be seen so No Access. No repair. Needs new wire along same route, but they don't "reroute" wires either. 2 reasons to deny claim. I knew the wire was broken. SCAM SHAM. I even offered to pay for the wire.

I’m not going to go as far to say all of the repair guys are unprofessional with little experience, I haven’t had a problem with that part but the amount of days it’s takes to get the job done is unbelievable. Your better off setting up a house maintenance savings account, putting in the for same amount as your paying a warranty company. That way your in full control of who does the work and at your planned time schedule.

I've never fallen victim to these companies because the math doesnt add up. How can you buy coverage without any preinspection of your items, and then expect a major repair to be covered? Insurance operates on the 'law of large numbers'. That's why your home insurance company can take care of loss to your house from wind damage. Thousands of people purchased the same coverage but will not have a wind damage claim. This gives them the money to pay claims on the comparatively few. These Home Warranty coverages cannot operate on this principle because 100% of every policy is guaranteed to have a claim!!!!!! So the only way they can make money is to avoid paying claims by any means necesary! Pure and Simple. They will simply find loopholes and/or hire incompetent companies to do the repairs. Anyway just my 2 cents.

I agree with both of you its a repoff, my water heater failed to relight the burner and it started to leak, they refused to help in ANY way saying they do not cover water heaters that leak water. Stay away from warranty company's like Select Home Warranty. I feel you are better of opening a separate checking account and place that mon=ey in this new account and add a little each month.

The company AHS is terrible, they often use unqualified contractors who don't want to do the work, then they balk and stall if something expensive has to be replaced so you are out of AC, heat, etc for weeks until they come up with some cheap solution that won't last, then they do the same thing over and over again instead of properly fixing it or just replacing it. They should be sued the way they treat their customers.

Just because a contractor gets leads and works for a home warranty company doesn't mean their not qualified to do their job. Your making it out to be that all contractors that work for a home warranty company are incompetent and lack the necessary skills to do a good job while still providing exceptional customer service. Not everyone is going to scratch the customers tile floors and show up late.. But this is my opinion just like you have yours. But as a company I don't see how this video will help your business by trying to make others look bad by giving them a bad reputation while trying to prove your the best.

Home warranties are like a bad nightmare that you wish you didn't sleep!!! Avoid all of them at all costs!!! It's better to bet on Red or Black at a casino than paying for home warranties
